Alex is a Director of Photography that is regularly hired to film documentary shorts, investigative documentaries, and documentary features. He has been in the industry for 17 years, having started out as a newspaper photojournalist.

In 2022 he was nominated for a national News & Documentary Emmy for his work with Vice News Tonight.

In 2023, he completed work on a multi-year feature documenting indigenous youth on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming, a project he was brought on to DP. Also in 2023, he completed Firefighter Academy in Colorado, where he is now a volunteer firefighter.

In early 2024, he served as a judge for the NPPA's Best of Photojournalism contest.

An accomplished outdoorsman, Alex has skied first descents in Svalbard, scuba dived fjords in Iceland, mountain biked Western China, and climbed 35 of Colorado's 14,000' peaks.

He has worked extensively throughout the US, as well as Bolivia, Panama, Mexico, Guatemala, Chile, Norway, and Canada, and traveled to more than 40 countries.  He lives in Colorado with his wife and daughter.
